Trading Operations Engineer (SRE / Platform / DevOps + Python) US / Canada Time Zones – Remote
The Opportunity
We’re working with a high-performance, technology-driven trading firm looking to hire a Trading Operations Engineer to support their global trading infrastructure outside of core business hours.
This role is aligned to GMT-5 time zones (approximately 11am – 7pm ET), providing critical coverage while key markets are active. You’ll take ownership of production stability, respond to real-time incidents, and collaborate closely with traders and engineers to ensure seamless trading operations.

Key Responsibilities
Provide out-of-hours operational coverage to ensure maximum trading uptime
Act as the first point of contact for production incidents and urgent system issues
Partner with trading and engineering teams to resolve issues quickly and reduce downtime
Monitor system performance, health, and alerts using modern observability tools
Contribute to reliability best practices in an SRE-style environment
Continuously improve automation, tooling, and operational processes
Required Experience
Strong Linux fundamentals including system debugging, shell usage, and networking tools
Good understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting connectivity issues
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes fundamentals (pods, scheduling, debugging)
Experience managing configurations using Helm or similar tools
Comfortable working in a 24/7 support environment with an incident-response mindset
Ability to read and debug Python code in production environments
Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
Nice to Have
Exposure to structured incident management frameworks
Experience with GitOps and deployment tools (e.g. ArgoCD)
Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, VPCs, EC2)
Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform)
Experience querying ClickHouse for debugging or performance analysis
Understanding of Kafka or similar messaging systems
Shift Alignment (Indicative)
East Coast US: 11am – 7pm
Central US: 10am – 6pm
Canada (ET): 11am – 7pm
