Platform Engineer

Overview

We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join a fast-evolving digital platform initiative within the financial services sector. The role focuses on enabling secure, scalable, and reusable integrations between a next-generation Digital Asset Platform and external ecosystems, including third-party providers, fintech solutions, and market infrastructure services.

This is a hands-on engineering role combining software development, integration expertise, and platform thinking to support a highly distributed and API-driven environment.

Summary

As a Platform Engineer, you will design and implement integrations between internal platform services and external systems. You will work closely with architects and engineering teams to ensure integrations follow defined standards, are reusable, and meet strict security and performance requirements.

The goal is to deliver reliable, scalable integrations that are easy to onboard and support continuous platform expansion and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain integrations between internal and external systems using APIs and event-driven architectures

• Develop reusable integration components (APIs, connectors, adapters)

• Build and maintain APIs, event streams, and integration services with focus on scalability and reliability

• Ensure alignment with platform architecture standards and “golden paths”

• Work closely with architects to translate designs into technical implementations

• Implement security controls (authentication, authorization, encryption) across integrations

• Ensure compliance with architectural and operational standards

• Support testing, deployment, and production readiness activities

• Monitor and troubleshoot integration services in production

• Improve delivery through automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code

• Explore new integration technologies and patterns

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong software engineering background focused on APIs and system integration

• Experience with REST APIs and event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar)

• Experience integrating third-party systems or SaaS platforms

• Strong knowledge of microservices and distributed systems

• Cloud experience (Azure preferred)

• CI/CD and DevOps experience

• Strong understanding of API security (OAuth2, authentication, encryption, identity management)

• Ability to work within architecture standards and governance frameworks

• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in complex environments

Nice to Have

• Digital Assets / DLT / blockchain experience

• Financial services or market infrastructure background

• API gateways, service mesh, or integration platforms

• DevSecOps or platform engineering exposure
