The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Core Java / Backend Developer to support the migration of a legacy application to a modern microservices-based platform. You’ll work in an Agile environment, delivering scalable backend solutions using Spring Boot, Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes while collaborating with architects, technical leads, and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy, and support backend solutions across the full SDLC.

• Contribute to the migration from legacy applications to microservices and event-driven architecture.

• Build scalable backend services using Core Java and Spring Boot.

• Ensure solutions align with engineering standards and best practices.

• Collaborate with architects, developers, and business stakeholders.

• Support and mentor junior developers.

• Use AI-assisted development tools to improve software delivery, code quality, testing, debugging, and development efficiency.

Required Skills

• Strong Core Java experience.

• Spring Boot & Microservices.

• Kafka / Event-Driven Architecture.

• Docker & Kubernetes.

• Unix/Linux.

• Object-Oriented Design (OOD).

• TDD / BDD.

• Performance tuning & profiling.

• Cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude, or Gemini within the software development lifecycle.

Nice to Have

• Agile delivery experience.

• Oracle / Database Design.

• IBM MQ.

• Financial Services or regulated environment experience.

• ISO 20022 / ISO 15022 messaging standards.
