Senior Python Engineer – DevOps – Research Infrastructure & Compute Platforms – Contract

We have an urgent contract opportunity.

This is to work alongside highly technical researchers and engineers solving computationally heavy problems where software quality and performance directly influence discovery and decision making. Engineering teams design and operate large scale distributed systems, developer tooling, and data platforms that support complex modelling, simulation, and real time workloads.

Looking for a Back End Engineer who is genuinely strong in:

• Python as a primary language, comfortable writing production quality code and owning systems end to end
• A strong DevOps and platform engineering background is important, including deep experience with Linux environments, container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, observability tooling, and reliability focused engineering

The work centres around building and improving the core engineering ecosystem that allows research and engineering teams to move faster and operate safely at scale.
