    Building on over 15 years of experience in the Insurance, Financial Services and Professional Services sectors Darrin founded Arcus Search to provide a dedicated and personal approach to client and candidate partnerships – something he felt was not always prevalent in today’s recruitment world.

    I have always enjoyed developing new business, and working towards growth, helping to generate revenue for the companies I work with through strategic talent appointments.

    My guilty secret: I love catching up on a bit of desert island discs whilst on the move.

    In my spare time…

    I enjoy the weekends when I get to spend time with my wonderful wife and two awesome boys. I get to walk our Jack Russell in the forest and if I can get a game of golf in at some point, then life is good!

    Having worked with Darrin for several years in a previous role, she wanted to join him at Arcus as she felt her operational skills, combined with his recruitment experience would form a solid partnership for success.

    A bit of background…

    I’ve worked in recruitment since 1999, and have a real passion for driving operational excellence throughout an organisation to ensure that it has a solid/scaleable platform to aid growth. I knew from early on that the opportunities for success were unlimited, and all you need is enthusiasm, a good work ethic and to be surrounded by like-minded individuals.

    What I love about my job

    Unlimited opportunities, satisfaction in utilising my skill set, the team I am working with and seeing a business go from strength to strength.

    I’m most proud of…

    The legacy I have left in the businesses I have worked for, the talented individuals I have had the pleasure of working alongside, the friends I have met along the way,  and when I was runner-up in the Best Newcomer category at the Hamilton Bradshaw Awards 2013!

    An interesting fact…

    I gave birth to a daughter in January 2018 who has shown me a whole new meaning to life.

    In my spare time…

    I like making memories with my family, and I’m also a big sports fan – Formula 1, Netball, Tennis and Golf, and I also drive my family Tanning Shop business on the side!

    Haaris worked with Darrin in a previous role, and greatly admired his industry knowledge and achievements so much that he wanted to work alongside him to further promote and partner Arcus’ clients.

    A bit of background…

    Having attended Loughborough University in my youth, I was persuaded to make the move further north to Cheshire with my wife. I’ve eight years of recruitment experience encompassing sales publishing, finance, change, data, technology and corporate governance.

    What I love about my job…

    I love the fact that I have the opportunity to provide, genuine, honest, credible, consultative, dynamic, passionate, proven, expertise to our candidates and clients. The market I serve is a network-based, relationship-led environment, and the ability to get in front of these professionals is a real passion of mine. Understanding their motivations, professionally, personally, whether it be client or candidate and the ability to understand and support is what drives me on a daily basis.

    I’m most proud of…

    Without giving away the names of my clients, I have successfully built Change-Data-IT teams for a number of underwriters, brokers, consultancies and further suppliers to the insurance market. I have provided talent that has allowed my clients to Insource, evolve from greenfield or mature brownfield environments, in the above disciplines. I’ve also been a confidant, consultative and knowledgeable talent partner to my clients, where they can rely on me for market intelligence in order to identify the key skills, level, character, remuneration we need to propose to the market when building a team or teams. From a candidate perspective, my biggest compliment is that my clients become my candidates and vice versa. My network trusts me to remain confidential, professional, knowledgeable, honest and deliver for them.

    An interesting fact…

    I was a Tottenham Hotspur youth goalie from U14 through to U17 level and I am a huge Tottenham Hotspur fan.

    In my spare time…

    I’m an avid gym goer, and I have three children to fill my time! My boys are huge football fans and actively participate, and my wife and daughter keep us all on our toes.

    After being introduced to Darrin & Arcus Search, Emma was drawn to the ethos of the company and how important building and maintaining relationships is to them. She holds similar values and felt she could bring her previous industry experience to the team.

     

    A bit of background:

    I have been in the recruitment industry since 2006 and have experienced a variety of roles across the back office including administration, compliance, contracts & legal, and supplier & relationship management. I have gained a lot of experience with the functional side of the business but also the communication and building relationships side. I’ve learnt that each area plays its own important role to contribute to a company’s success.

     

    What I love about my job:

    I love the variety in my day and the various projects that come up to research and put my mind to. I really enjoy supporting my colleagues, working as a team and being able to assist our contacts with any queries they have too.

     

    I’m most proud of:

    My two sons – they are both kind, polite & full of beans!

     

    Interesting fact:

    I love to travel and spent a year living, working and travelling in Australia. It’s hard to pick a highlight but I did fall in love with the Daintree rainforest in the North East.

     

    In my spare time:

    Spending time with family & friends is top of the list. We spend a lot of time walking and cycling as a family. I am also a keen runner and if there’s any time leftover, I love getting stuck into a good book.

    Outside the office I’m committed to spending my time with family and friends. Weekends are packed with attending the gym but the real reason is for the sauna and jacuzzi facilities.

    Carlie has nearly 18 years’ experience in the insurance industry working in underwriting and broking companies in the London market.

    She joined the recruitment industry in 2019 to specialise in the insurance sector using her in-depth market knowledge and understanding of the industry to strengthen her role as a recruiter.

    My time in the insurance industry has enabled me to specialise in an area that I really understand and enjoy working in. It also allows me to continue to work with the people that I have built strong relationships with in the past.

     

    What I love about my job

    Being able to help clients and candidates find the right fit for them, your job is such a big part of your life and I feel very grateful being in a career myself that allows me to help others.

    My son, I have taught him to try your best and always be kind, and I am very proud that he is adopting both of these traits and many more.

    I attended an introductory to counselling course in 2019.

     

    In my spare time

    Outside of work my time is spent with family and friends, going on long walks and enjoying the countryside. I love cooking and baking, apparently I make a cracking banoffee pie!

    Isaac is an experienced Cyber Security Recruitment Consultant with a wealth of experience in matching Information and Cyber Security professionals of all levels with the best organisations and projects on a Contract and Permanent basis. He particularly has an interest in Information Security but isn’t limited to this area, other areas of his expertise are: GRC, Security Engineer, IAM, Cloud Security, OT Security and eDiscovery.

     

    What I love about my job…

    I love being able to help people, it’s something that I get satisfaction from especially when the right candidate is placed into the position that suits their needs and skill set. I enjoy bridging the gap between client and candidate providing top quality guidance on both ends.

     

    I’m most proud of…

    Receiving Rookie of the year in my first year of Cyber Security Recruitment. I am also proud of the positive impact I have made in some of my candidate’s lives, helping them to negotiate the best package.

    I am bilingual and can speak English and Yoruba which is a language in Nigeria.

     

    In my spare time…

    Outside of work, I enjoy fashion designing, reading books and spending time with friends and family.

    Paul is an experienced Recruitment Consultant who has a background in pairing Change, IT and C-Suite individuals with companies across the full breadth of the Financial Services Industry, including Insurance, FinTech, Retail Banking, Buy and Sell Side Trading and InsurTech. He has joined Arcus to build on a successful career and partner with firms at the forefront of innovation in their industries.

     

    A bit of background

    I attended St Mary’s University in Twickenham to study Sport Science (a completely relevant degree for my current career…). Post University, I started my career in Fraud Analytics, where I learned an awful lot about the good, bad and truly ugly side of humans! I then discovered a passion for recruitment and haven’t looked back since!

     

    What I love about my job

    The favourite part of my job is hearing feedback from clients on the work their hires are doing. Most of my placements make real changes to the organisations they join and I get to see the changes first hand. I also love building out teams from scratch, from inception to completion finding the right resources for a successful project is the reason I get out of bed.

    I’ve broken 26 bones in my time, with 13 of them coming from a single rugby tackle…

     

    In my spare time

    I like to attempt challenges that are way above my station and not bother training for them in any capacity. Recently I decided it was a good idea to cycle in the London-Surrey 100 which had absolutely no benefit to me. I also enjoy playing the occasional game of golf and in my past I used to chase eggs for a living.

    Nathalie’s career started in France at the Prime Ministry office and she decided to go into recruitment in 2006 after finding a natural flare for it. Nathalie began specialising in Cyber Security and IT when she joined the French Cyber Security Agency in 2012. Nathalie moved to London in 2016 and continued to develop her network in this specific sector throughout the years based on trust, honesty, and integrity.

     

    A bit of background:

    Having more than 8 years of experience in the Cyber Security sector made me passionate about the people who are part of it.

    I am truly interested in people and I enjoy finding the roles that will make my candidates grow professionally by improving their technical and soft skills as well.

    I like to understand my clients’ environment and their recruitment strategy: it allows me to build strong and long-term relationships by helping them in the present to prepare for their future.

     

    What I love about my job:

    There is so much variety and always something to learn as Cyber Security and IT are everywhere in our daily life. It is not always easy, but it is good to be challenged!

    I like to think that I am working for a more secured world by finding the right candidates for my clients.

     

    I’m most proud of:

    My family and my professional achievements. Throughout my career, I have met good people who have guided me and helped me grow. I am doing my best to do the same for people around me.

     

    Interesting fact:

    If you do not know about Reunion Island, it is a great place to go to feel tolerance and kindness surrounded by beautiful landscapes whilst enjoying amazing food! It is a very small French tropical place where I come from and try to visit regularly.

     

    In my spare time:

    I spend all my time with my husband and our two daughters. I also play violin and enjoy playing in symphonic orchestras.

Working with businesses ranging from growing start-ups to multinational enterprises, Liam endeavours to build strong relationships with candidates and clients in the Data space and believes that networking with as many like-minded professionals is key to keep up with the ever-evolving Data & Analytics environment.

     

    A bit of background:

    Starting off in a career in Advertising, I took the plunge into Recruitment and joined a global Analytics Agency in 2017. From there I was able to immerse myself in the Data world and have built some great relationships with both clients & candidates alike. I’ve learnt so much and find the whole industry fascinating. Data & Analytics is key to running a successful business! I joined Arcus in January 2021 and am thoroughly looking forward to what the future holds for the business.

     

    What I love about my job:

    Finding candidates the right role for them and seeing them grow professionally. It’s an amazing feeling making a placement and seeing all parties happy. That and making great friends in the workplace.

    A lady once came up to me in Sainsbury’s and asked for a picture & autograph, thinking I was David Platt from Corrie. I happily obliged and faked the signature.

    You can find me in any local watering hole, playing footie on a Sunday or watching Arsenal through the gaps in my fingers.

    After obtaining my Masters in Business and Marketing, I started my career in London as an IT recruiter working in the French market. I have since relocated to France and I am still enjoying working in recruitment.

    A bit of background

    Having gained 18 months of hands-on sales experience within the continental European property market, I decided to permanently relocate to London and started my career in insurance recruitment in Summer 2019.

    I then enjoyed two successful and eventful years of working the DACH insurance markets remotely from London, before making the move into the London market, whilst still keeping my focus on the German insurance market.

     

    What I love about my job

    The constant contact and exchanges with interesting and successful individuals from the industry, in combination with delivering high quality service and a consultative approach and in return receiving positive feedback and referrals from my network.

     

    I’m most proud of

    The connections and relationships I was able to establish across a number of different jurisdictions in a fairly short amount of time, as well as the value I was able to add to my clients and specific teams/strategies, helping them to realise some key hires over the last few years.

     

    Interesting fact

    I have lived and worked in three countries and also speak a total of three languages (German, English & Spanish).

     

    In my spare time

    I like to spend my free time between going to the gym, doing a fair bit of reading, researching fashion trends and what’s currently going on in the industry, as well as spending time with friends and exploring new countries and cultures, whenever possible.
